October is finally here and that means cooler temperatures, shorter days, and most importantly, some of the biggest gaming releases of the year will start dropping. Luckily for me, one of my most anticipated titles of the year drops this week. Which title is that? I will give you III guesses…

Aragami – PS4

One series I wish would come back and be greatĀ is Tenchu: Stealth Assassins. I really enjoyed the first game, and though there were a number of sequels, none of them could live up to the experience of the original game. Aragami reminds me of the great time I had with Tenchu. A strong focus on stealth, owning the shadows as a ninja, and taking down your adversaries with a variety of assassination techniques are all things that sound, and look, great to me! I dig what I have seen from the art style of Aragami and I feel like this could be one more indie title I completeĀ before the year is over.

Mafia III – PS4 (out Friday, October 7)

This is my second most anticipated title of the fall, right behind Rise of the Tomb Raider. It may have been my most anticipated if I had not loved the Tomb Raider reboot as much as I did, but from a story perspective, I am far more interested in Mafia III. I want to know more about everything in this game: the protagonist, the town of New Bordeaux, the Marcano Crime Family, and the alligators. I will admit, the news that 2K was not giving early copies of the game for review did worry me a bit, but the same thing happened with Doom, and that game turned out ok! While I am not expecting this game to be perfect from a gameplay perspective, I am hoping the narrative and setting do enough to keep me interested for the long haul.

Alright folks, that is it for this week. I am hoping to make an excellent dent in Mafia III before next week rolls around as my most anticipated game of the fall releases and my PSVR should be arriving. I am not sure how I am going to make time for everything, but I am looking forward to the problem! Are you picking up Mafia III? What are your most anticipated games of the fall?
