As we march closer to the end of the year, the unseasonably warm weather occurring in my neck of the woods is becoming difficult to reconcile with how early it gets dark now. The best part of it getting dark earlier? It makes playing video games easier after work as there is less glare on the screen! You always have to look for the silver lining. So, what is going to compete for screen time this week? Let’s take a look…

Dishonored 2 – PS4

Do you want to assassinate people? Go for it! Would you rather take the non-lethal sneaky route? That is possible too! Or would you prefer to kick down the front door and go in crossbow (and powers) blazing? That can be done too! I enjoyed the first Dishonored, and while this is actually not my most anticipated game this week, I plan to pick it up before the end of the year. Why wait? Dishonored 2 is the game I plan to play on my two week winter vacation, so I might see if I can snag a deal on it between now and then.

Eagle Flight – PSVR

“I want to fly like an eagle, to the sea. Fly like an eagle, let my spirit carry me.” Kids, ask your parents about the reference…and they still might not know. So you may need to ask your grandparents. One of the big promises of VR was being able to fly, and while I initially envisioned that as Superman, I will take a bird. In Eagle Flight humans have disappeared leaving Earth as a playground for wildlife. This allows you to take on the role of an eagle as you dip, dive, and soar through Paris. Count me in on this one, as I am ready to take flight!

Robinson: The Journey – PSVR

Dinosaurs? Check. Flying robot buddy? Check. Crashed ship? Check. Exploration? Check. VR? Check. Ham sandwiches? Uncertain. In Robinson: The Journey, you take on the role of Robin, a young boy who was aboard the Esmerelda when it crashed on the planet Tyson III. You now search the planet for any remaining crew while also uncovering the secrets of your new home. One of my most anticipated PSVR titles (along with Golem), I am looking forward to seeing what Crytek, who is typically a visuals powerhouse, can do in VR.

That is it for me this week. Still quite the backlog, but it looks like I have a number of games I am going to add to it this week. What are you currently playing? Which of the big three shooters released this Fall have you been playing? Did I miss something this week? Comment below or chat with me over on Twitter!
