February 14. I feel like there is likely something I am supposed to remember about today, but it just will not come to me. Oh well, there are video games to play! The hits keep on coming in 2017 as we have another healthy week of releases including a couple games fighting for your AAA dollars, but there is an indie or two you may want to keep your eye on as well. What am I most excited about? Let’s take a look…

Flywrench (PS4)

This game is from the makers of Nidhogg and it is kind of hard to explain. You are attempting to navigate the level by passing through barriers without (I think) ever hitting walls as you work your way to the goal. It is kind of like a puzzle platformer…without platforms…I guess. I am sure selling this well, but check out the video above as it hopefully will explain things a bit more clearly!

Sniper Elite 4 (PS4)

I wrote a review for this (you can find it here) and it is a pretty solid game!  In this installment of the franchise you are once again Karl Fairburne, but this time you are taking your special set of skills to Italy to assist the Italian resistance in fighting the Nazi regime. This is a patient shooter, and while you can run and gun, it is not extremely satisfying and you are less likely to be successful. Being an awesome sniper, though, is extremely satisfying and gives you an opportunity to appreciate the X-Ray Kill Cam in all of its ridiculous glory. So, if you are looking for a more patient, methodical shooter, I recommend you check Sniper Elite 4!

Toy Odyssey: The Lost and Found (PS4)

To be clear, I am not certain this is going to be the best game ever made. However, I enjoy a good metroidvania type of game, and this one has a pretty interesting concept. Exploring procedurally generated levels in a house as a toy and fighting off other toys, collecting weapons, recruiting allies, building a base, etc. While I may not pick this up on day one, I likely will keep an eye out for a nice sale!

Honorable Mention

For Honor (PS4)

Why is this an honorable mention? Well, I played a decent amount of the closed beta and was not a huge fan. However, I know a number of the PSVG folks played the open beta and really seemed to enjoy it. So, if you are at all interested in For Honor, there is plenty of video and commentary on the game out there for you to check out! It seems to be a very quality made game, so I want to recognize that, but it just is not for me.

That is it for me this week. What are you picking up this week? Do you think For Honor will be successful? Is Sniper Elite 4 going to find an audience in a crowded Spring? Comment below or hit me up on Twitter!
