August is drawing to a close, which means fall is right around the corner. I love fall. The temps start to get cooler, tasty drinks based on pumpkin are available at your local coffee shops, and a plethora of holiday celebrations are on the horizon. The only thing standing between all of those awesome things and the end of the year? A bunch of games to play! This week the PSN store has quite the heaping of games (21 to be exact) but am I interested in any of them? Let’s take a look…

Claire: Extended Cut (PS4, Vita) – Cross Buy

I enjoy horror games, and a 2.5D side-scrolling horror game sounds right up my alley. Claire is a young girl who is visiting her sick mother and along the way discovers there are things that go bump in the night. While I did not have the opportunity to play the original game, my research has assured me there is a dog in this game, and I am almost always in for a game with a dog! Hailstorm Games, the team behind Claire, is a small, three person studio, and if a small studio produces something I am interested in, especially on Vita, I am going to check it out.

The Final Station (PS4)

Have you seen the movie Snowpiercer? If not, you should. If you have and want to play a game that seems to be inspired by Snowpiercer, Final Station might be the game you are looking for. The comparisons are inevitable. The world is dying and in order to survive you must travel on a train. While in Snowpiercer the train never stops, here you are going from station to station looking for supplies, and potentially additional survivors. An awesome concept for a game, I am certain The Final Station will be making a stop at my PS4.

Verdun (PS4)

When Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare were announced, I was one of the many people who jumped on the Battlefield 1 bandwagon. I had been growing tired of shooters set in the future, and was really looking forward to going back in time for a taste of what the older CoD titles gave us. The more I read and see about Battlefield 1, the less excited I have gotten for it, but then I heard about this game Verdun. Set during World War I, you take control of a squad, and choose your role. With multiple types of squads, and numerous game modes, Verdun might be the older shooter I am looking for.

That is it for me this week. The releases this week are really diverse, and it seems like there is something for just about everyone (Attack on Titan, God Eater 2, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X, Resident Evil 4, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition). What are you picking up this week? Am I sleeping on something I should pick up? Comment below or head over to Twitter and let me know!
