The PlayStation Blog reported today that the newest system update for the PS4 3.50 will be released tomorrow. This is a pretty major update as we discussed on Play Some Video Games: The Official Podcast. Details below:

New Social Features

  • You will have the ability to appear offline
  • Friend Online Notification – you can choose which friends to be notified for as well
  • User Scheduled Event – You can schedule gameplay with friends

Other New System Features

  • Remote Play (PC/MAC)

With this update PS4 remote play will work with windows PC and Mac systems using the following OS versions:

  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 10 or later
  • OS X 10.10
  • OS X 10.11

You can adjust the resolution (360p,540p,720p) and frame rate (30fps, 60fps) depending on your connection and system capabilities. You will be able to use the dual shock 4 as well for remote play which does need to be connected to your computer via USB.
