PSVG was burning the midnight oil late last night as Bethesda took the stage with it’s presentation this year. While the presentation was very different than previous years (played out more like a Nintendo direct) they were direct, to the point, and gave a lot of information in around 45 minutes. Let’s dive into some of my favorite things from last night…..

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus:

While this was teased at last years conference, it’s been radio silent since for the most part (minus a leak yesterday afternoon to preorder) this game looks “interesting” to say the least. Once again we will be reprising our role as BJ Blazkowicz but this time instead of Europe this game takes place in a Nazi invaded America. In the trailer we see alot of familiar faces both good and bad, as well as some colorful Americans joining the good fight. This is what you expect from Wolfenstein now, quick action, lots of guns and lots of violence, with some odd humor mixed in for good measure. Graphically this game looks VERY well polished, hopefully the end product will look and run just as well.

The Evil Within 2:

The second of the two “surprise” titles announced during the show, The Evil Within 2 put out the above very impressive trailer. Tango Gameworks and Bethesda released The Evil Within in 2014. The game followed a police detective, Sebastian Castellanos, who is mysteriously transported to a bizarre and terrifying new realm while investigating a murder case. In the sequel, Sebastian returns to a nightmare world while searching for his daughter.

While I wasn’t over the moon over the first one, it looks like this one is sped up, as the first one was extremely clunky. It had a great concept but it just wasn’t polished up enough. This one however…..looks VERY good. It was leaked a little while back due to a job posting but the title was never confirmed until last night. Will this be the horror game fans deserve? We will all find out soon enough it seems.

Dishonored: Death of The Outsider

More Dishonored? Sure, that’s never a bad thing. This standalone title (smaller DLC type thing) was a pleasant surprise, instead of continuing the story from Dishonored 2, this takes a different route.

The game will take players back to Karnaca where Billie (voiced by Rosario Dawson), sporting an eye implant, will trek through the city’s seedy underbelly trying to take down the “bastard responsible for all the chaos.”

Bethesda says the game will feature new enemies and new ways to kill them,

“Using all-new powers and abilities, Billie will infiltrate underground fight clubs and square off against the Sisters of the Oracular Order, the immortal Envisioned and the Outsider-obsessed Eyeless gang. She’ll also face new Clockwork Soldiers – along with other new and returning foes – and retrieve ancient artifacts in a thrilling bank-heist mission, eventually facing the mysterious, god-like Outsider himself.”

Skyrim on Switch:

I was a little torn as to whether or not to include this on it’s list. It’s clearly not the improved or visually enhanced version of the game we have on PS4 and Xbox One now. They are adding motion controls which is something no one asked for to be frank and hopefully will be optional. BUT on the flipside….you can be freaking “LINK” in Skyrim. In a genius move I honestly did not see coming they will support Amiibo! Fingers crossed I can use Ness and rock his look and a baseball bat, or maybe Fox with a crossbow….probably not but hey a boy can dream……

In what may have been the most shocking announcement of the night…everything from mobile games, to Skyrim on switch, to all the VR stuff and the rest….will be available by the end of 2017! So while they may not have given much detail to all their announcements, ultimately it doesn’t really matter cause you can be playing them all within a few months!
