As Nathan, Kevin, and I discussed on our Nintendo E3 wrap up podcast, we noticed that Zelda: Breath of the Wild didn’t hold up visually with the PS4 & Xbox One games we’ve grown accustomed to this generation. If you also followed along with us during our Nintendo live-blog, you might recall that I was noticing some frame drops as well as significant pop-in. Digital Foundry, the expert in breaking down game performance, has taken Nintendo’s latest build of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and provided an in depth analysis on performance. With the game is still over 6 months from releasing, the frame drops could be lessened as the game is continually optimized for better performance.

Main results are 1280×720 (720p resolution) & 30 frames per second. One must wonder if the NX version of the game is boosted to 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second.

UPDATE

Digital foundry has once again analyzed Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this time taking on the second E3 demonstration.
